SERP Snippet Preview
See a plain-text preview of how a title, URL and description might look in search results, with counts and truncation.
What is the SERP Snippet Preview?
The SERP snippet preview shows a plain-text version of how your title, web address and description could appear in search results. It cuts long titles near 60 characters and descriptions near 158, as results commonly do. It is an approximation, because search engines decide the real display.
How it works
The tool shortens the title after about 60 characters and the description after about 158, adding an ellipsis. It shows the web address as a breadcrumb trail. Real results are cut by pixel width and may be rewritten, so treat this as a guide.
How to use it
- Enter the page title, address and description.
- Read the preview and the character counts.
- Trim any part that gets cut off.
- Copy the final wording into your page.
SERP Snippet Preview — FAQ
Is this exactly what Google will show?
No. It is an approximation using common character limits. Search engines may truncate differently or write their own snippet.
Why is the address shown with arrows?
Search results usually display the site name and path as a breadcrumb, so the preview does the same.
Should I fill the whole length?
Not necessarily. A clear, shorter description is better than padding to reach a number.
