In short

What is the Employee Cost Calculator?

The employee cost calculator estimates what an employee really costs a business, beyond the salary. It adds the employer contribution percentage you enter and monthly overheads, then shows the monthly cost, the annual cost and the cost per working hour.

How it works

Employer contributions equal monthly salary times the contribution percentage divided by 100. Monthly cost equals salary plus contributions plus overheads per employee. Annual cost is monthly cost times twelve. Cost per working hour equals monthly cost divided by the working hours in a month.

How to use it

  1. Enter the monthly salary.
  2. Enter the employer contribution percentage that applies in your case.
  3. Enter monthly overheads per employee, such as equipment and software.
  4. Read the monthly, annual and hourly cost.
