Keyword Density Checker
Count how often a keyword appears in your text and see its density, word count and the top ten words used.
What is the Keyword Density Checker?
The keyword density checker counts the words in your text, how many times a keyword or phrase appears, and the density as a percentage. It also lists the ten most-used words, ignoring common stop words. Density is a rough editing aid; there is no ideal percentage that search engines require.
How it works
Density is the number of times the keyword appears, multiplied by the number of words in the keyword, divided by the total words in the text, times 100. Words are compared in lower case, and stop words and words under three letters are ignored in the top ten.
How to use it
- Paste your text into the box.
- Type the keyword or phrase you are targeting.
- Read the count, density and top words.
- Edit for natural, readable wording rather than chasing a number.
Keyword Density Checker — FAQ
What is a good keyword density?
There is no official target. Write naturally; repeating a phrase just to hit a percentage can make text worse.
Does it count phrases?
Yes. Enter a phrase of several words and the tool counts exact in-order matches.
Why are some common words missing from the top ten?
Everyday words such as the, and and of are treated as stop words so the list shows meaningful terms.
