What is the Unit Price Calculator?
The unit price calculator divides the price of each pack by the quantity inside it, so two different sizes can be compared fairly. It shows the price per unit for both and tells you which pack is cheaper and by how much per unit.
How it works
Unit price equals pack price divided by pack quantity. The tool calculates this for pack A and pack B, then compares them. The pack with the lower unit price is cheaper per unit. Use the same unit, such as grams or pieces, for both packs.
How to use it
- Enter the price and quantity of pack A.
- Enter the price and quantity of pack B.
- Read the unit prices and the cheaper option.
Unit Price Calculator — FAQ
Which units should I use for quantity?
Any, as long as both packs use the same one, for example grams for both or pieces for both.
Is the cheaper pack always the better buy?
Not always. A larger pack only saves money if you will use all of it before it spoils or expires.
Why are unit prices shown with decimals?
Per-unit prices are often small amounts, so decimals make the difference between packs visible.
