What is the Favicon Generator?
The Favicon Generator crops your logo to a centred square and saves it as a PNG icon in the size you choose, such as 32 pixels for the browser tab or 180 pixels for the Apple touch icon. It works in your browser, so your logo is never uploaded.
How it works
The largest centred square is taken from your image, scaled to the chosen size and exported as a PNG with transparency kept. Run it once for each size you need.
How to use it
- Choose your logo, ideally a square image with some padding.
- Pick the icon size you need.
- Press Download, then repeat for the other sizes and link the files in the head of your site.

Which favicon sizes do I need?
A 32 pixel icon for browser tabs, a 180 pixel Apple touch icon and 192 and 512 pixel icons for Android and installable web apps cover most needs.
Why is my logo cropped?
Favicons are square, so the tool keeps the centre. Start from a square version of your logo for full control.
Can I make an ICO file?
This tool makes PNG icons, which current browsers accept. An ICO file is only needed for very old browsers.
