In short

What is the Password Generator?

The password generator builds a random password from the character types you choose, with at least one of each type. It runs locally in your browser using its secure random source, so nothing is sent anywhere or stored. Longer passwords are stronger, and each account should have its own.

How to use it

  1. Set the length, from 8 to 64 characters.
  2. Tick the character types to include.
  3. Optionally avoid look-alike characters such as O, 0, I, l and 1.
  4. Copy the password into your password manager.
Questions

Password Generator — FAQ

Is the password sent to a server?

No. It is generated on your device and shown only on this page. Nothing is transmitted or saved.

How long should a password be?

Longer is better. Many security teams suggest at least 12 to 16 characters for important accounts, and a password manager makes that practical.

Why avoid look-alike characters?

Characters like O and 0 are easy to confuse when you must type a password by hand. Removing them reduces mistakes.
