In short

What is the SWP Calculator?

This SWP calculator shows what happens when you withdraw a fixed amount every month from a corpus that keeps earning an expected return. It gives the balance left at the end, the total withdrawn and how many months the money lasts if it runs out early.

How it works

Each month the balance first grows at the yearly return divided by 1200, then the fixed withdrawal is deducted. This repeats for every month of the period. If the balance cannot cover a withdrawal, the remainder is paid out and the process stops, which gives the months the corpus lasts.

How to use it

  1. Enter your starting corpus in rupees.
  2. Enter the monthly withdrawal you want.
  3. Type the yearly return you assume and the years.
  4. Read the balance left, total withdrawn and months funded.
Questions

SWP Calculator — FAQ

What is a systematic withdrawal plan?

It is a plan to take out a fixed sum at regular intervals from an investment, often used to create a regular income.

What if the corpus runs out early?

The tool stops at that point, shows a zero balance and tells you how many months the corpus lasted. Lower the withdrawal to extend it.

Are withdrawals taxed here?

No. Taxes and charges are not included, so the amount you keep after tax may be lower than shown.
