What is the SIP Calculator?
This SIP calculator estimates what a fixed monthly investment could grow to. Enter the monthly amount, an expected yearly return and the years, and it shows the total amount invested, the estimated returns and the maturity value. Actual market returns vary, so use it for planning only.
How it works
Each month an instalment is invested at the start of the month and grows at the yearly return divided by 1200. The maturity value is the instalment x (((1 + r)^n - 1) / r) x (1 + r), where r is the monthly rate and n is the number of months. Returns are maturity value minus the amount invested.
How to use it
- Enter the amount you plan to invest every month.
- Type the yearly return you assume.
- Enter the number of years.
- Read the invested amount, estimated returns and maturity value.
SIP Calculator — FAQ
Does this guarantee the maturity value?
No. The return is an assumption you type in. Market-linked investments can return more or less, and this tool only does the arithmetic.
Why does starting early help?
Returns earn further returns over time, so the same monthly amount invested for more years can grow noticeably more.
Are charges and taxes included?
No. Fund expenses and taxes are not deducted here, so your take-home value may be lower than the estimate.
