In short

What is the Base64 Encoder & Decoder?

The Base64 encoder and decoder converts text into Base64 characters and back again, with full UTF-8 support so Indian-language text survives. It is useful for HTTP headers, data URIs, tokens and config values. Base64 is an encoding, not encryption, so it gives no secrecy.

How to use it

  1. Choose Encode or Decode.
  2. Paste your text or Base64 string.
  3. Read the result and copy it.
Questions

Base64 Encoder & Decoder — FAQ

Is Base64 a form of encryption?

No. Anyone can decode Base64 instantly, so never use it to hide passwords or secrets.

Can it decode URL-safe Base64?

Yes. Dashes and underscores are treated as plus and slash, and missing padding is tolerated.

Why do I get an error when decoding?

The text contains characters outside the Base64 alphabet, or it decodes to bytes that are not valid text.
