What is the CTR Calculator?
Click-through rate, or CTR, is the share of people who saw your ad or listing and clicked it. Divide clicks by impressions and multiply by 100. Compare it with your own earlier ads and placements, since a good CTR depends on the channel and audience.
How it works
CTR % = clicks / impressions x 100. Impressions per click = impressions / clicks. If impressions or clicks are zero the matching result shows zero. The same formula works for ads, emails, search listings and social posts.
How to use it
- Enter the total clicks.
- Enter the total impressions or views for the same period.
- Read the click-through rate and impressions per click.
- Track it over time for each ad, subject line or listing.
CTR Calculator — FAQ
Can I use CTR for organic search?
Yes. Use clicks and impressions from Search Console to see how often your listing is clicked when it appears.
Does a high CTR mean the ad works?
Not by itself. Clicks that do not convert still cost money, so check conversion rate and cost per result as well.
How do I raise CTR?
Test headlines, images and offers one change at a time, and compare the new rate with your own earlier results.
