What is the Days Between Dates Calculator?
This calculator counts the number of days between two dates and shows the gap as weeks and days and as approximate months. The start date is not counted, so 1 January to 2 January is one day. It works whichever date you enter first.
How it works
The tool converts both dates to calendar days and subtracts one from the other, then takes the positive difference. Weeks are the days divided by 7, with the remainder shown as days. Approximate months divide the days by 30.4375, the average month length.

Days Between Dates Calculator — FAQ
Is the last date included in the count?
No. The count is the difference between the dates, so the start date is not counted. Add one day if you need both dates included.
Do leap years count correctly?
Yes. The calculation uses real calendar dates, so 29 February in a leap year is included automatically.
Does the order of the dates matter?
No. If the second date is earlier, the tool still shows the positive number of days between them.
