What is the Find and Replace Text?
The Find and Replace tool swaps every match of a word or phrase in your text for something else. You can match case exactly or ignore it, and replace whole words only so that "cat" does not change "concatenate". Special characters such as brackets and dots are treated as plain text, which makes it safe for names, prices and codes.
How to use it
- Paste your text into the box.
- Type the text to find and the text to replace it with.
- Tick the case or whole-word options if you need them.
- Copy the updated text from the result box.

Can I use special characters like brackets or dots?
Yes. Everything you type in the Find box is matched literally, so a dot is a dot and (a+b) is exactly those five characters.
What does whole word mean?
The match must not touch other letters, digits or underscores. Searching for cat with this on changes "the cat sat" but leaves "concatenate" alone.
What happens when nothing matches?
You will see a short message saying no matches were found, so you know your text was not changed.
