In short

What is the Gold Loan Calculator?

This gold loan calculator estimates the loan you could get against your gold and what it costs. Enter the weight in grams, the price per gram, the loan-to-value per cent and the yearly rate and months. It shows the gold value, the eligible loan, the interest and the total to repay.

How it works

The gold value is the weight in grams x the price per gram you enter. The eligible loan is the gold value x the loan-to-value per cent / 100. Interest is calculated as simple interest: loan x yearly rate / 100 x months / 12. The total to repay is the loan plus the interest.

How to use it

  1. Enter the weight of the gold in grams.
  2. Type the price per gram that applies to you.
  3. Enter the loan-to-value per cent your lender offers.
  4. Enter the yearly rate and months, then read the loan and interest.
Questions

Gold Loan Calculator — FAQ

What is loan-to-value?

It is the share of the gold's value that a lender will lend. You type the figure from the lender's offer, since each lender sets its own.

Which gold price should I use?

Use the price per gram your lender applies to your gold purity. The tool does not supply a price, and lenders value gold by purity and weight.

Does interest here match every lender?

Not always. Some lenders charge monthly or compound interest, or collect it upfront. This tool shows simple interest for the whole tenure.
