What is the Markdown to HTML Converter?

The Markdown to HTML converter turns everyday Markdown into HTML code: headings, bold, italic, inline code, links, bulleted and numbered lists, and paragraphs. Any raw HTML you type is escaped first, so the output is safe to inspect. It covers the common basics rather than every Markdown extension.

How to use it

  1. Type or paste your Markdown.
  2. Tick the option to open links in a new tab if you want it.
  3. Copy the HTML into your page or editor.
Questions

Markdown to HTML Converter — FAQ

Which Markdown features are supported?

Headings with hash signs, bold, italic, inline code, links, bulleted and numbered lists, and paragraphs. Tables, images and code blocks are not converted.

Why does my own HTML appear as text?

Raw HTML is escaped on purpose, so tags you type show as text rather than running. This keeps the output safe.

Are unsafe links blocked?

Links beginning with javascript are not turned into anchors, only their text is kept. Always review generated HTML before publishing it.
