What is the Meeting Cost Calculator?
This calculator estimates the salary cost of meetings. Enter the attendees, their average monthly salary, the meeting length and how many meetings happen each month. It assumes 173 working hours a month to find an hourly cost, then shows the cost per meeting, per month and per year.
How it works
The hourly cost per person is the average monthly salary divided by 173 working hours, an assumption of this tool. Cost per meeting is that hourly cost times attendees times the meeting minutes divided by 60. Monthly cost is that figure times meetings per month. Yearly cost is twelve times monthly.
How to use it
- Enter how many people attend.
- Enter their average monthly salary.
- Enter the meeting length in minutes and meetings per month.
- Read the cost per meeting, month and year.
Meeting Cost Calculator — FAQ
Why 173 hours a month?
It is a round figure for roughly 40 working hours a week over a month. Your own working hours may differ, so treat the result as a guide.
Does the cost include more than salary?
No. It covers salary time only, not overheads, tools or the value of the work that was interrupted.
How can this help reduce meeting load?
Seeing a regular meeting as a rupee figure helps teams decide whether it needs every attendee, a shorter slot or a written update.
