What is the Salary Per Day Calculator?
This calculator turns a monthly salary into a daily and hourly rate. Choose the days basis your company uses, such as 26, 30 or 31, or type the actual days in the month. The daily rate is useful for leave deductions, pro rata pay and short assignments.
How it works
The per-day rate is the monthly salary divided by the number of days in your chosen basis. If you pick the typed option, the actual days field is used instead. The per-hour rate is the per-day rate divided by the working hours per day. A basis of zero shows zero.
How to use it
- Enter the monthly salary.
- Pick the days basis: 26, 30, 31 or typed days.
- If you chose typed days, enter the number in the actual days field.
- Enter hours per day and read the daily and hourly rates.
Salary Per Day Calculator — FAQ
Which days basis should I use?
Use the one in your appointment letter or payroll policy. Companies differ, so the tool lets you try 26, 30, 31 or the real days of the month.
Does the result change month to month?
Only if you use the typed actual-days option. A fixed basis such as 30 gives the same daily rate every month.
What should I enter for hours per day?
Enter the paid working hours in a normal day, such as 8 or 9, excluding unpaid breaks if your policy excludes them.
