What is the Overtime Pay Calculator?
This calculator estimates overtime pay from a monthly salary. It first finds the normal hourly rate from your working days and hours per day, then multiplies it by your overtime multiplier and the overtime hours. You type the multiplier yourself, such as 1.5 or 2, based on your policy.
How it works
The hourly rate is the monthly salary divided by working days times hours per day. The overtime rate is the hourly rate times the multiplier you enter. Overtime pay is the overtime rate times the overtime hours. If working days or hours per day is zero, the rates show zero.
How to use it
- Enter the monthly salary.
- Enter working days and hours per day for the month.
- Enter the overtime hours worked and the multiplier from your policy.
- Read the hourly rate and the overtime pay.
Overtime Pay Calculator — FAQ
What multiplier should I type?

Which salary should overtime be based on?
That depends on your policy, which may use basic only or a wider wage. Enter the monthly amount your policy uses.
Can I enter part hours?
Yes. Overtime hours accept decimals, so 7.5 hours is multiplied exactly as entered.
