Questions

Number Extractor — FAQ

How are amounts like 1,200 or 12,34,567 treated?

With the thousands option on, they are read as single numbers, 1200 and 1234567. Turn it off if commas in your text separate different numbers.

Does a hyphen make a number negative?

Only when it stands in front of a number on its own, as in -5. In a word such as COVID-19 or a range such as 3-5 the hyphen is ignored.

Why is the sum rounded?

Decimal sums are rounded to six places so that tiny computer rounding errors do not show up in the result.
