What is the Remove Extra Spaces?
The Remove Extra Spaces tool cleans untidy text. It collapses runs of spaces and tabs into a single space, trims spaces from the start and end of each line, and can remove blank lines. It is useful for text copied from PDFs, emails, spreadsheets and web pages that arrives with irregular spacing.
How to use it

Remove Extra Spaces — FAQ
Does it remove line breaks too?
No. Your lines stay as they are, apart from blank lines if you choose to remove them. Use the Remove Line Breaks tool to join lines.
Does it treat tabs as spaces?
Yes. Tabs and non-breaking spaces are turned into ordinary single spaces.
Will it change my words or punctuation?
No. Only the spacing changes. Letters, numbers and punctuation are left untouched.
