What is the Text to Comma-Separated List?
The Text to Comma-Separated List tool turns a column of items, one per line, into a single list separated by commas, semicolons or bars, with optional quotes around each item. It can also split a list back into lines. It is useful for SQL values, tags, email lists, spreadsheet columns and form fields.
How to use it
- Paste your items into the box.
- Choose lines to list, or list to lines.
- Pick the separator and whether to wrap items in quotes.
- Copy the converted result.
Text to Comma-Separated List — FAQ
Why add quotes around the items?
Quotes are needed for text values in many tools, such as SQL queries or code arrays. Choose double or single quotes to match what your tool expects.
Are blank lines kept?
No. Blank lines are ignored and spaces around each item are trimmed.
How does the reverse direction work?
It splits the list at each separator, trims the items, removes matching quotes around them and puts each item on its own line.
