What is the Engagement Rate Calculator?
Engagement rate shows how much of your audience interacts with your content. Add likes, comments, shares and saves, divide by followers and multiply by 100. Compare the result with your own earlier posts or accounts of a similar kind, not a universal target.
How it works
Total engagements = likes + comments + shares + saves. Engagement rate % = total engagements / followers x 100. It shows zero if followers is zero. Some people divide by reach or impressions instead, so keep to one method when comparing posts.
How to use it
- Enter the likes, comments, shares and saves for a post or period.
- Enter your follower count at the time.
- Read the total engagements and the engagement rate.
- Compare posts using the same method each time.
Engagement Rate Calculator — FAQ
Should I divide by followers or reach?
Followers is simple and common. Reach shows how people who actually saw the post reacted. Pick one and stay consistent.
Do all interactions count equally?
Here they do, for simplicity. Some teams weight comments or saves more, which you can do by adjusting the numbers you enter.
Can I use it for a whole month?
Yes. Add the interactions across posts and divide by the average follower count for that month.
