In short

What is the Net Worth Calculator?

This net worth calculator adds your cash, investments, property and other assets, then subtracts your home loan and other loans. It shows total assets, total liabilities, your net worth and the share of your assets that debt funds, so you can track your position over time.

How it works

Total assets is cash plus investments plus property plus other assets. Total liabilities is the home loan plus other loans. Net worth is total assets minus total liabilities, and it can be negative. The debt share is total liabilities divided by total assets, shown as a per cent.

How to use it

  1. Enter the current value of your cash and investments.
  2. Enter the value of property and any other assets.
  3. Enter the outstanding balance on your home loan and other loans.
  4. Read your total assets, liabilities and net worth.
Questions

Net Worth Calculator — FAQ

What should I count as an asset?

Count what you could value in rupees today, such as savings, investments and property. Use current market estimates and avoid double counting.

Can net worth be negative?

Yes. If your loans are more than your assets, net worth is below zero, which is common early in a career.

How often should I recalculate it?

Many people review it once or twice a year, using the same method each time so changes are comparable.
