Call & SMS Link Generator
Create a tel: call link or an sms: text link, with an optional ready-typed message, and a QR code for it.
What is the Call & SMS Link Generator?
This tool builds a tel: link that starts a phone call, or an sms: link that opens a text message with optional pre-filled words. Use it for tap-to-call buttons on a website or for a QR code on print material. You can also switch the result to a ready HTML anchor.
How to use it
- Enter the phone number with country code, for example +91 98765 43210.
- Choose whether the link should call or send an SMS.
- For SMS, type the message that should be ready in the text box.
- Copy the link, or switch to HTML anchor to paste a ready tag into your page. Test it on a phone.
Call & SMS Link Generator — FAQ
Why include the country code?
With a country code and plus sign, the link works from any country. Without it, the link depends on where the person is dialling from.
Will the SMS text always appear pre-filled?
Most phones read the message from the link, but messaging apps differ slightly in how they handle it, so test on both Android and iPhone.
Do tel links work on a desktop computer?
Only if the computer has a calling app set up, such as a softphone. On most phones the link starts a call straight away.
