What is the Training ROI Calculator?
This calculator compares what a training programme cost with the benefit you can measure, such as hours saved or errors avoided, valued in rupees. It shows the net benefit, the return on investment as a per cent and the benefit for each rupee spent. Enter your own benefit figure.
How it works
Net benefit is the measurable benefit value minus the training cost. ROI per cent is the net benefit divided by the training cost, times 100. The benefit ratio is the benefit divided by the cost. If the training cost is zero, the ROI and ratio are shown as zero.
How to use it
- Enter the total training cost, including fees and time.
- Estimate the benefit in rupees, such as hours saved times their value.
- Read the net benefit and the ROI per cent.
- Test a cautious benefit figure to see how sensitive the result is.
Training ROI Calculator — FAQ
How do I put a rupee value on a benefit?
Take a measurable change, such as hours saved a month, and multiply by the cost of an hour. Use cautious assumptions you can explain.
Should the benefit cover a year or longer?
Choose a period you can defend, and use the same period each time so training options can be compared fairly.
Does a negative ROI mean the training failed?
Not always. Some benefits, such as safer work or better morale, are hard to value in rupees and may not appear here.
